Behind the Scenes of my short film with The Joy of Plants

I am very excited to reveal an exciting project that I worked on last Autumn with The Joy of Plants a part of the Flower Council Holland. and and Funnyhowflowersdothat is an initiative of The Flower Council of Holland  and lets consumers experience the benefits of surrounding yourself with plants and inspires people with their plant and flower-related content.

I had met some of the team earlier in the year at a summer workshop I hosted, and they suggested that we make a short film together.  I immediately jumped at the chance and the result was a meeting of garden-loving minds on a beautifully sunny, albeit rather windy day.

We toured the village, the Heath, Fenton House and my humble abode as I talked about my very favourite subject – gardening!

The film was made by the excellent Dutch production company Hotel Rebel who drove all the way over from Holland. The crew had never been to this part of  London so I was very eager, and proud, to be able to show them around the local area of Hampstead – a place that I have lived for fifteen years now and somewhere that I can confidently call home.

The team agreed that for anyone gardening in the city, Hampstead is an unequivocal source of urban gardening inspiration with its vast lush greenery and woodlands, and the stunning London skyline as its backdrop. It really is the ultimate urban oasis.

We also visited the gorgeous gardens of Fenton House, a true gem in this city. Seeping in history and greenery, this venue certainly combines two of my greatest loves and I often like to visit here at weekends.

A really lovely day spent with a great crew, who love the outdoors as much as I do.
