A few weeks ago The Balcony Gardener team enjoyed a lovely lunch at Vapiano restaurant on Great Portland Street in London. It was a big hit with everyone, the food and drinks were fantastic and great value and what made it extra special – particularly for the Balcony Gardeners – was that you were able to pick fresh herbs to garnish your salad and pizza. We thought this was a great concept, so simple and a fantastic addition to our lunch. The restaurant chain is throughout Europe andthe USA, and the menu is bursting with freshly made pastas and pizzas using local ingredients. Afterwards we were thinking that instead of flower arrangements more restaurants could place different pots brimming with herbs on your table, not only does it look good but it also enhances your meal!
