Last year I was delighted to be asked by uber stylish US based furniture and accessories retailer, West Elm
, to consult on their urban outdoor collection. The products are now available as part of their new summer assortment and feature a gorgeous range of planters, containers, outdoor furniture and garden accessories. I reviewed the entire garden assortment, making sure everything was covered and helped to select market garden tools, cityscape planters and stackable pots.
West Elm is the upscale arm to famous American homeware store chain Pottery Barn and I’ve always loved their approach to home decor. West Elm believe that great design should be authentic, affordable and approachable. All the lovely products are simple, functional and stylish – the same qualities that I look for when I am buying or designing for The Balcony Gardener. It’s an exciting design and interiors brand, their pinterest account
for example is a great reference point, and often features inspiring colour designs and cool collaborations.
Past West Elm collaborators have included textiles expert Allegra Hicks, leading pattern designer Sarah Campbell and South African artist Anthony Shapiro. There are more than 40 West Elm stores in the US and Canada – it’s so exciting to think we have played a small part in inspiring people all across North America. Visit their website here
Keep your eyes peeled for another special The Balcony Gardener retail project in the very new future. This time in London !
